The beautiful day started with a gorgeous classic sunrise peeking through the mountains… a perfect nod to a Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Wedding. Ryan and Val were the center of attention as they, surrounded by the love of family and close friends walked down the aisle. With a view of the lake and the rugged mountains, they gracefully recited their vows and said I Do. Melting into each others arms, they embraced with friendship, relief and a connection of the heart as they stepped towards each other for their first kiss as man and wife.
Undeterred by the rain and armed with umbrellas we set out on a quest for photos to all the fantastic locations Ryan (the groom) had chosen the day before. Just shortly after we arrived back from photos, the guests were making their way in for cocktail hour, which was filled with not only beautiful drinks but fabulously laid out hors d’oeurvs and cuts of meat. By the time the guests were warm the couple was ready to enjoy their first dance. Which was creatively choreographed, as both attended dance lessons for their big debut as Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Hammond.
Of course we had to sneak away just before 10 pm, after the first dances to capture a few photos out on the lake with the beautiful sunset. Thank you Ryan and Val for asking me to photograph your beautiful destination wedding. My days in Jasper and Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge were nothing short of fabulous!
