I met up with Ford and Vanna in Saskatoon for their engagement photos. We initially had the date booked for the week before but due to the -59 wind chill… (yes, you all remember that weekend) we opted to reschedule for a much more suitable time. Thankfully we were blessed with a fabulous day.
As my assistant (Desirae, my sister) and I stood chit chatting waiting for my clients to arrive.
I looked up from the pavement and soon got a glimpse of this fabulous looking couple making their way through the gate to our shooting destination. In their awesome and well planned attire, Vanna and Ford quickly flashed me a huge smile and a friendly wave and in the moment (not that I had any doubt before) but I knew we were going to have a fabulous session.
Dressed for our time together the two looked great! And even planned a few wardrobe changes which I absolutely adore! We got started; and with each click of the shutter I felt extremely confident with what we were capturing. The two were very graceful and truly themselves in front of the camera. I would ask Ford to whisper in Vanna’s ear, or grab on to her and without hesitation they’d pull each other in tight and giggles would arrupt. Vanna would then flash me that signature smile; and truly light up the camera. The best thing about this couple is just the ability to be who they are and take life as it comes…. they are fun-loving, can be silly and truly downright adorable! I kept them out for a few hours that night (and it was getting cold; especially with no winter jackets on) and without hesitation they were more then willing to just go with whatever I had planned; That’s always a sign of wonderful memories being captured and wonderful things to come!
I had a brief meeting with Ford and Vanna a few weeks prior to discuss wedding details but we hadn’t truly had a chance to get to know one another as of yet. Although Vanna and I had begun a great online friendship through emails and facebook messages it’s always nice to spend the evening with my clients; getting to know them, it truly was the highlight of the day!
I’m incredibly honoured to be working with Ford and Vanna and I’m excited for their August, Elk Ridge Resort Wedding (later this year). I’m sure it promises to be an unforgettable day/evening for their friends and loved ones. Here are a few of my favourites from their fabulous Engagement Session in Saskatoon last Saturday….
